Managing Director, Malson Agro Farms Nig Ltd

Amaka Anita Allison is a chartered accountant and the visionary founder of Malson Productions and Malson Agro Farms Nig. Ltd., both committed to advancing climate-smart agriculture. She is an active member of the African Women Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP), the Women of Chambers of Commerce (WOCIMA), the Enugu State Young Farmers Club (ENSYFA), and the African Food Changemakers (AFC).

Amaka specializes in cultivating gourmet and medicinal mushrooms, with a strong focus on training local farmers, particularly women and youth, in organic indoor mushroom farming. Her enterprise also pioneers the farming of Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL), converting biodegradable waste into high-protein animal feed, organic fertilizer, and nutrient-rich food, thereby promoting a circular economy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Under her leadership, Malson has empowered over 250 farmers and expanded the use of mushrooms into innovative food and skincare products, including mushroom-based teas, spices, soaps, and coffees. Her impact was recognized in 2022 with the AWEP Social Impact Award for Southeastern Nigeria.

Currently developing 12 varieties of edible mushrooms, Amaka remains a passionate advocate for mushroom consumption through platforms like the Mushroom Lovers Group. Her integrated approach, which utilizes kitchen, market, and agricultural waste in indoor farming, advances sustainable food systems and provides practical solutions to food insecurity and soil degradation.
