Savannah Women Farmers Association
Formally registered with the Registrar General department, the Association transitioned from Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), established since 2013 with support from SNV and Africa Lead/USAID across various districts. Membership comprised producers engaged in crop cultivation, forest and farm products and savings operating in the Northern region. Objectives include enhancing income sources through entrepreneurial training, advocating for favorable policies, promoting environmental sustainability, and facilitating resource mobilization. With 145 VSLA members averaging 25 per group, totaling approximately 3,600 women aged 24 to over 50, SWFA operates through three structures: the General Assembly, steering committee, and community focal groups.
