Nwabudo Agro Seeds and Inputs Company Limited (NASICL) is an indigenous, registered seed company in Nigeria, incorporated in 2012 with operating headquarters in Umuahia, Abia State. It is the largest seed company in South-East and South-South Nigeria and supplies seeds to all parts of the country. NASICL engages in the production and marketing of improved quality seeds of grains – rice, cowpea, maize, wheat, sorghum; roots and tubers - yam, cassava, potato; and vegetables. In addition to seed sales, the company also engages in marketing fertilizers, crop protection chemicals and agricultural equipment. NASICL produces foundation seed on its farms while outgrowers are engaged for certified seed production. The company has over 750 registered outgrowers spread across 6 states including Borno, Jigawa, Kano, Anambra, Enugu and Abia, NASICL’s outgrowers in the Northern parts of Nigeria engage in wheat, maize, sorghum and rice seed production. In South-Eastern Nigeria, the outgrowers of the company produce rice, maize and vegetable seeds, and small quantities of cassava stems and seed yam tubers. NASICL partners with international development organizations and participate in donor funded initiatives to demonstrate new crop varieties and planting methods to farmers.
