Green Leaf Kenya is a grassroots organization based in Homa Bay county, Kenya with a mission of making climate change easy to understand so that everyone in the community can take care of the environment and live a sustainable life. Green Leaf Kenya works with community members by creating and facilitating sustainable farms - majorly in abandoned sand mines of South and North Rachuonyo. The farms are vertical and hydroponic as these mines have been barren and unproductive - to cut on cost of reclamation, we set up farms in areas identified by the community groups, and support them with training and linking them to markets for their produce. Green Leaf Kenya is not necessarily a traditional business working for profit, but rather empowers the community members to make them self sustainable, with what they have through agribusiness initiatives.
