Dr. Asaah Ndambi is a Senior International Animal Production Specialist at Wageningen University and Research, Netherlands. He has over 15 years of working experience in international and interdisciplinary research on animal production systems with focus on dairy value chains and sustainability in dairy production.
Asaah’s work in WUR mainly focuses on building sustainable dairy value chains in Africa and cover different aspects including feeding, genetic improvement, animal health and welfare, milk preservation, processing and quality, agricultural extension and rural communication, production economics and climate change adaptation and mitigation. He plays a pivotal role in linking public and private sectors, aiming at strengthening local capacities in improving food security & food safety, and in developing inclusive and lucrative agribusinesses.
Before joining WUR, he worked for two years as a livestock scientist at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Kenya. He has also worked as a Dairy Economist at the International Farm Comparison Network (IFCN) at the University of Kiel in Germany. He is also an international consultant for dairy development and have been involved in several dairy development projects in North, Central and East Africa. He holds a PhD. in Agricultural Sciences with a specialty in Livestock Management & Economics.
