Dr. Maroya has 35 years of experience in agricultural research services specializing in plant breeding with a Ph.D. from the Department of Botany, University of Ghana Lagon. Specifically, he has over 20 years of regional and international experiences focusing on root and tuber crops and seed related project management, coordination and leadership in West Africa. Dr. Maroya has led a number of yam and cassava breeding projects across West Africa for a range of stakeholders including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, IITA, and HarvestPlus.
