The Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), established under the Public Enterprises (Privatisation and Commercialisation) Act No. 28 of 1999, is the statutory agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) charged with the responsibilities of driving the reform and optimisation of public enterprises through privatisation and commercialisation and PPP. The Bureau is currently spearheading a range of transformative projects in collaboration with key Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). These initiatives cut across critical sectors of the Nigerian economy, including hydropower assets, midstream and downstream petroleum assets, spin-off agricultural projects (particularly from River Basin Development Authorities), ecotourism, and greenfield special economic zones, through PPP arrangements.
