In the year 2011 when I was in Kano State Nigeria studying Law, I got a sad news from my siblings that my mother was diagnosed of high blood pressure, I was devastated. I realised high blood pressure seem to be a generic disease in my family lineage. I decided to go all out in search of a natural remedy for high blood pressure from the northerners whom I lived with. In the cause of my findings, I found that about 46% of Africans have high blood pressure and that "ZOBO DRINK" cures it if prepared with certain herbs and spices. I learnt it's mode of preparation locally and online. I subsequently started preparing it and send it frozen to my mother in Ilorin, Kwara State. After like 5 months, she started seeing improvements and confirmed to me it was efficient. I then told myself one afternoon while preparing the Zobo Drink that if mother can be cured of high blood pressure with this natural drink, why should I not monetize this knowledge? I started production after some planning and enquires, it was a tough journey for me as I had to combine school with entrepreneurship. In my first four years of operation, I helped 32 aged women who subscribed to my supply of Zobo drink to cure high blood pressure. I also acquired a mini freezer and i saved #37,000 which I used to buy my text books in law school in 2014. In 2020, While i have identified the existence and growth of the Posh Zobo™ drink and it's consistent request from existing and prospective consumers from different parts of the world, I introduced my new product "POSH ZOBO TEA BAG" which makes the consumption of Zobo drink a lot more dynamic and convenient for consumers. Posh Zobo Tea Bag comes with meticulous production process and unique packaging which makes it different from the generally available mode of bottling the liquid Zobo drinks. The Tea bag contains a blend of Zobo leaves with natural herbs and spices for the management of the identified health problems thereby aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals of promoting good health and providing responsible consumption while simultaneously refreshing the consumers. With the concept of packaging the Posh Zobo in tea bags, i aim at reaching out to a wider net of consumers across Nigeria, Africa and the world, so as to have more people enjoy the health benefits of Zobo leaves. I have completed the registration process of Posh Zobo Tea with the NATIONAL AGENCY FOR FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION AND CONTROL (NAFDAC). I am committed to reaching more African market because our high blood pressure history is the same in several homes in Africa. In the near future, I will transition from manual production to mechanized production, build an ecommerce website where people can shop from any where in the world. Because of Posh Zobo Tea, people will no longer suffer and die of high blood pressure around the world.
