About Company

The PROPEL Project by Serene addresses poverty among smallholder farmers in Kenya by tackling low production, limited market access, and reliance on rain-fed agriculture. Unlike traditional cooperative models, PROPEL employs a private initiative to secure funding from investors, donors, and farmers. Key strategies include improving farmer earnings through enhanced production, market access, and value addition. The project will engage thousands of farmers, introduce a ridesharing app for efficient transportation, and establish warehouses for produce grading and distribution. To boost productivity, it incorporates farmer training, soil fertility clinics, and irrigation systems to mitigate drought. PROPEL also integrates renewable energy through castor oil biodiesel, micro-hydro projects, and solar power. Its environmental initiatives focus on agroforestry and establishing environmental chapters in schools, fostering climate awareness. By combining innovation, sustainability, and economic empowerment, PROPEL creates a holistic pathway to resilient and prosperous farming communities.
