About Company

Maaltaaba Peasant Women Farmers’ Cooperative (MAPEWFAC otherwise referred to as Maaltaaba) is a formally registered women-owned and focused organization. The organization currently has 1,250 members in the Talensi, Nabdam, and Bongo districts in the Upper East Region of Ghana. The core objective of the organization is to empower women economically, socially, and politically. The organization's overarching strategy is to improve the existing skills of the women who are already involved in peasant farming, agri-business, environmental conservation, and alternative livelihood development to increase their income and food security as well as decrease their marginalization and abuse. The focus on the economic empowerment of the members is based on the fact that the majority (80%) of the members of Maaltaaba are widows, PWDs, and single mothers, school drop-outs,
