Founder, Vellas Pastries and Confectioneries

Chinyere Oluchukwu Osuji is a visionary entrepreneur, food innovator, and passionate vocational educator. She is the founder and chief executive officer of Vellas Pastries and Confectioneries, a pioneering bakery brand celebrated for its healthy, wheat-legume-based products. She also serves as the director of the Vellas School of Catering and Hospitality Management, where she mentors aspiring bakers and hospitality professionals, equipping them with practical skills tailored for excellence and impact.

She currently serves as the Enugu State Chairman of the Connection of Stakeholders in Agricultural Mechanism (CONESAM), a RISA-KECC (Research and Innovation Systems for Africa Knowledge Exchange and Cascaded Commercialization) initiative funded by Adam Smith International UK-FCDO, designed to strengthen national research and innovation systems across Africa. 

A recognized leader in women’s entrepreneurship and agri-food innovation, Chinyere is a proud MTN Yellopreneur Women Initiative Beneficiary and a recipient of the Southeast Women Entrepreneurship and Leadership Award. She was also a finalist in the ‘She Innovates’ category of the African Women in Agribusiness Awards, in recognition of her work in food processing, nutrition, and women-led agribusiness.

With over two decades of practical experience, she has empowered hundreds through vocational training and capacity-building programs. She has facilitated workshops for several reputable organizations and agencies, including American Spaces, SMEDAN, NBTI, Bruce-Mayrock Foundation, CIPDI, and MindAfrica, focusing on entrepreneurship, baking technology, and economic empowerment.
