Sarah’s Bakery and Kitchen (SBK) is a women-led food business in The Gambia that specializes in producing healthy dried fruit snacks using locally sourced mangoes, pineapples, and other fruits. The business also offers a range of other services, including pastry production, small-scale catering, and custom food trays for events. SBK addresses key challenges such as post-harvest fruit waste, limited access to healthy snack options, and high youth unemployment—particularly among women. By sourcing directly from farmers and providing employment opportunities in food processing and packaging, we aim to promote local agriculture, reduce food waste, and empower women through skills training and job creation.
