About Company

THE BUSINESS IDEA It all began with a small home garden to provide fresh vegetables for my family. As the garden slightly expanded, I sold surplus vegetables to friends and neighbors. Encouraged by the returns, I secured a larger plot to formally commercialize the venture. This humble beginning marked the journey to where I am today.. THE BUSINESS Shamba Fortune, a registered farming business in Mkuranga, Tanzania, began in 2018 with one acre under drip irrigation. It grows and sells horticultural crops like sweet corn, tomatoes, pumpkins, cucumbers, plantains, sweet potatoes, and cassava, with sweet corn being the primary crop. Despite challenges, the business has expanded to nearly five acres, all under drip irrigation, using family savings.
