Bio Franca Trans Technology Limited
Biofranca Trans Technology Limited, based in Kenya, builds anaerobic digesters that convert organic waste—such as human waste, animal dung, and market refuse—into biogas for cooking. The byproduct serves as an eco-friendly liquid fertilizer. Biofranca’s clients include schools, institutions, urban slums, and individual households, all benefiting from affordable and sustainable energy. Committed to community development, Biofranca trains local technicians and provides access to biogas systems in both Kenya and Uganda. Partnerships with organizations like GIZ and SNV support training and financing, enabling projects such as Results-Based Financing for biogas adoption. Biofranca has installed over 300 domestic and 15 institutional digesters and is developing a “pay-to-own” model to improve access to their systems.
