Peahen Nigeria
Peahen Nigeria is making healthy food cheap and easily accessible for Nigerians, while making technical farming easy, and attractive to youths. This company is headed by Bello Rashidat Motunrayo, a graduate of pure and applied Mathematics. She wrote a mathematical model on reducing food wastage as a final year thesis in the year 2012. Nigeria is faced with problems like food scarcity, seasonal food wastages, hunger, poverty, unemployment, increased crime rates, poor economy, etc. All these problems can be solved by ensuring youths are gainfully employed in the Agricultural value chain. Peahen Nigeria is hoping to make agriculture attractive to youths by providing an enabling environments, easy access to modern equipments, land etc. and we help them sell their farm produces for a percentage. We’ll have a farm settlement that’s non reliant on the epileptic power supply of the country, we’ll generate power from the abundant sun (solar), our machineries and processing plants will be solar powered. We’re presently opening food trucks, farm shops and grocery stores where these farms produces will be sold. We also make home delivery of fresh farm produces. Presently, we get our produces from existing farmers, and the demand is getting higher than the supply. If the market is secured, there’s an assurance that farm produces produced at the farm settlement will be easily sold.
