This issue of Agricultural Today is a special edition in which we have dedicated most articles to irrigation, arising from the unprecedented capital investment totalling 115 million United States Dollars Government has injected into developing irrigation in Zambia, through the Irrigation Development Support Programme (IDSP), which has been implemented in the past seven years For far too long the song of Zambia’s immense irrigation potential has been on our lips, with the pride chorus emphasising the fact that our country houses more than 45 percent of the waters in the SADC region, albeit with very little of that water being harnessed for irrigation.
