Field experiments were conducted in the Ile-Ife outstation of the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training during the 2016 and 2017 cropping seasons to investigate the effect of three herbicides namely: Codal Gold 412.5 EC (Metolachlor + Prometryn) applied pre-emergence at 1240g, 1650g, and 2060g ai/ha; Dual Gold 960 EC (Metolachlor) applied pre-emergence at 480g, 960g, and 1440g ai/ha; Fusilade (Fluazifop-butyl) applied post-emergence at 150g, 225g, and 300 ai/ha on the growth and yield of cowpea.
