Increased Fish Intake Improves Brain Development for Young Children

This post is by Kristen Dechert and Melissa Chapnick and originally appeared on the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Fish website. Dechert is the marketing and communications manager at the Fish Innovation Lab and is based at Mississippi State University. Chapnick is a member of the SecureFish team and the research manager of the E3 Nutrition Lab at Washington University in St. Louis. Although she had been feeding fish to her children already, Matunda Said now gives them even more of this nutrient-rich food. Packed with long-chain fatty acids and other nutrients, fish can be a critical source of nutrients linked to improved brain development in young children.
