The Seed Money Project “Insects for Africa” was initiated to determine the need for alternative animal feed ingredients and the options of insects as a potential source in Eastern Africa. The aim of the project is to solve a local system problem. A system problem is a problem that can only be solved through collaborative efforts of business, government, and research institutions. Prerequisite for a seed money project is that a local problem owner or owners (companies and or governments) participate in the project.
