Given the challenges of energy poverty and vulnerable food systems prevalent across countries in Africa, there is a critical need to ensure access to adequate and affordable energy for the agriculture sector. Powering agriculture through innovative and climate adaptable models will enhance food security across the continent, improve livelihoods of key actors in the sector and build resilient economies. This publication presents practical solutions for stakeholders to alleviate energy poverty and improve access and usage in the agriculture sector to achieve economic and environmental benefits. We hope that this quarterly will inform, educate, and spur action and collaboration of all key stakeholders in the food and energy ecosystems.
