In collaboration with partners in Ethiopia, Nigeria and Uganda and within the larger framework of the Integrated Seed Sector Development in Africa (ISSD Africa) programme, WCDI part of Wageningen University & Research (WUR) conducted rapid assessments of the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the seed sector in the months of May and June 2020. The rapid assessments included a survey among a panel of seed sector stakeholders and focus group discussions with critical stakeholders, which resulted to the publication of seed alerts. Each seed alert identifies four immediate challenges and elaborates options what can be done about it, what stakeholders are involved, who can initiate and who can drive proposed actions.
